The Silent Killers in Your Business…

The most dangerous tasks to procrastinate on are not the urgent ones.

They’re the high-impact ones.

The ones that could completely transform your business—but conveniently don’t come with anyone breathing down your neck about them.

Like… when was the last time someone slapped your wrist and yelled at you for not growing your email list??

Or for being stuck involuntarily dancing to the tune of the social media algorithms instead of actually building real relationships with your audience?

Never, right?

Maybe that’s why every time you think about starting these important tasks, you’re just like…

Meh. Next month?

What’s worse is our brains somehow trick us into thinking those missed opportunities cost nothing.

After all, you’re still in the same spot you were, right?

But that’s exactly the problem.

You’re still in the exact same spot.

You didn’t get started so you’re still in the exact same spot.

Same audience size.

Same income.

Same frustration.

Man, this was the thing that finally made me snap out of it.

One day, I just stared at my calendar and realised, holy crap, I’ve been saying ‘I want to write every single day’ and ‘I really need to build my email list’ forever.

And what had changed?

Big fat ZERO.

You know why?

Because I was too busy running around like a headless chicken, putting out fires from all my urgent tasks, while the actual leverage-building work sat there collecting dust… quietly holding me back from being the business owner I knew I could be.

And if I’m being totally honest with myself, I had so many urgent tasks because I was procrastinating in my own self-doubting and perfectionistic way.

Overthinking everything until my brain threatened to sue me for abuse of power.

Researching until I could write a PhD thesis.

Editing until all the life was sucked out of my writing.

This is exactly why I call urgent tasks the silent killers of your business.

Because the more of them you have, the more likely it is that you’re procrastinating your face off.

And it creates a vicious cycle:

  1. Procrastination gives birth to urgent tasks
  2. Urgent tasks keep you in survival mode
  3. Survival mode traps you in a scarcity mindset
  4. Scarcity mindset makes you focus only on the immediate fires
  5. Meanwhile, the important work that could transform your business remains undone…

What’s worse, the cost isn’t just in your missed opportunities.

It’s also in the mental exhaustion of carrying around all that guilt and shame about the things you know you need to do but haven’t…

But hey, if you’re reading this and it feels like I’m calling you out, maybe I kinda am.

Because I’ve got not so bad news…

As the saying goes, “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is now.”

Tp. Tp.

There’s more where that came from!

See, I’ve been writing daily productivity emails for online business owners since November 2024.

And what you just read is barely a scratch on the surface.

The real gems… The fun, insightful, and occasionally absurd behind-the-scenes stories… My best offers… The kind of stuff that makes you go:

“Wait… did that REALLY happen?”

I don’t blast those out to the whole internet.

(Some things… should be kept private.)

But if you want to snoop around… if you want to see what really happens in AYAPYLand…

There’s a door.

And it’s open.

For now.
